But yes like poundaproblem said that the time stretch feature in the MPC's let you slow the sample down or speed it up or make it stay the same tempo as you change the pitch. The reason that when you change the pitch of a sample and it slows down or speeds up is to my knowledge because most programs changing pitch accomidate the speed it takes for the sample to play normal without sounding distorted. So ya, the pitch of a music note would determine what note that is, so changing the pitch of a sample does in fact change the key of it. Not trying to bring up technical definitions to make you seem slow man I am tryin to make you understand it best, I had to go look it up to figure out the easiest way to answer your question. to set at a particular pitch, or determine the key or keynote of (a melody).
